Vegetarian Meals: Quiche

Since I have not posted since July 1st I decide to start of posting with a vegetarian recipe. During my short lived vegetarian days I loved making quiche. It has the perfect amount of protein, vegetables, and calcium, for anyone, especially those who do not eat meat.

Recipe

Crust:
You can chose to buy store-brought crust or you can make your own using this recipe.
1 1/2 cups flour
1/4 teaspoon salt
1/2 cup (1 stick) butter
Up to 3 tablespoons cold water, milk, or buttermilk

  1. Mix the dry ingredients in a bowl
  2. Add the butter and water, or milk
  3. Mix until completely mixed
  4. Roll into a ball
  5. Use a rolling pin to spread the dough onto a pie pan, a round baking pan, or a muffin pan with you want mini quiches.

Filling:
Since this is a vegetarian recipe the fillings will include milk, eggs, cheese, and vegetables. However you can also you ham.
egg
cheese
milk
You can use any kind of vegetable some popular ones include
spinach
onions
tomatoes
green, red, and/or yellow peppers
broccoli
mushrooms
  1. Mix eggs, and milk in a bowl (the amount you use depends on how large your quiche is or how many you are making.)
  2. Pour the mixture into a the pan with the crust
  3. add the vegetables you like into the pan. I personally like green peppers, and tomatoes
  4. When your done adding your vegetables top it with cheese.(Optional)
Let me now in the comments if you choose to make quiche and tell me how it turned out.
