Eco-Friendly Summer 2011 Must Haves (Beauty Edition)

Now that summer is upon us, many of us will have to update your beauty routines. Thankfully there are only a couple of products that we should consider adding that are a must have for summer. (By the way I also did a similar post to this on my luuux account)

1. Bronzer
This summer bronzer will be your face's best friend. Bronzer is the perfect way to get a natural looking glow without harming your skin by tanning.

Try
Physicians Formula Bamboo Wear Bronzer + Package:

The compact for this product is made from bamboo, and comes with a bamboo brush applicator, and a mirror. The Bamboo Silk Bronzer which is sold separately can easily fit into the compact. It is also made from 90% natural formula and comes in three different shades. The compact can to reused and the bronzer pan can be recycled. (Lastly you can also buy the bamboo wear silk face powder refill to place inside the compact.

2. Sunscreen
Sunscreen is definitely the most important product to use, not only in the summer but throughout the year. It will protect your skin from the sun's powerful rays and protect you from skin cancer. Try to buy one with at least SPF 15.

Try

California Baby No Fragrance SPF 30+ Sunscreen Lotion

The California Baby Sunscreen is safe, natural, and fun just the bottle says. It is perfect for babies as well as adults. For more information click here.

Also try the Absolutely Natural SPF 15 Sunscreen

This sunscreen is a natural sunscreen with a SPF of 15 that helps protect against skin damage. Click here to learn more.

3. Cream Blush
Cream blushes are perfect for the summertime because they enhance your natural beauty and give you a healthy looking glow.

Try

Tarte Natural Cheek Stain

This cheek stain is perfect for a natural glow. There are many different colours that suit all skin tones. These cheek stains do not contain alcohol or oil so they will not dry out your skin or clog your pores. The packaging for this product is also recyclable. To learn more click here.

4. Lip Balm with SPF
Another important product is lip balm with SPF inside. This is because many people forget that they need to protect their lips from the sun. With lip balm that contains SPF you will no longer have to worry.

Try
Eco Lips Classic SPF Lip Care

This product contains natural ingredients like organic sunflower seed oil, organic beeswax, and organic jojoba seed oil. It also comes in three flavours, berry, mint, and sport which contains hints of vanilla. It is also very cheap.

5. Tinted Moisturizer
Tinted moisturizer was seriously made for summer. This is because it provides a sheer coverage that is light enough to wear it the summer heat without feeling like your face is melting.

Try
Tarte smooth operator tinted moisturizer

This products is lightweight and contains SPF 20. It was formulated without mineral oil and paraben. It is also cruelty free. Click here to learn more

6. Waterproof Mascara
Waterproof mascara is perfect for those who love to have perfect lashes while out by the pool or beach. These mascara's work like regular mascaras put or a harder to remove once wet, so make sure you get a good makeup remover to remove it with.

Try
Tarte lights, camera, splashes

This products is similar to lights, camera, lashes by Tarte, however it is a waterproof formula. The packaging is biodegradable, as well as recyclable

Tip Tuesday: Use Reusable Bags

Use Reusable Bags:
Instead of getting plastic or paper bags every time you go shopping. Invest in some reusable bags. Not only are they really cheap (can be as low as $0.99) they also cut back on the amount of plastic and paper we use since you can use it over and over again. Another plus about reusable bags is the fact that they come in really cute styles!
P.S: Don`t forget to wash them every once in a while to keep them clean

Today I made myself a refreshing glass of a fruit smoothie using frozen fruits

What you Need
  • Blender

Steps
  1. Pour some frozen fruits in a blender. The amount you add depends on the amount you make
  2. Add in any kind of juice
  3. Blend
This repice is very easy. You can also make your own kinds. For example you can add in some veggies, or you can you some green tea.

(This is my 100th post YEAH!!!!!)

Homemade Fruit Popsicles

I find this recipe on YouTube a couple days ago and I deiced to share it with you. This homemade fruit popsicle is easy to make healthy and if you can organic fruits it can be very "green."

What you Need

  • Popsicle molds
  • Water (or you can use juice)
  • Fruit
Steps
  1. Start of by cutting the fruit in small pieces so that they can fit into the mold
  2. Put the fruit inside the mold and then fill the popsicle mold with water or juice
  3. Place the popsicle mold in the freezer and wait until the mixture is completely frozen
  4. Once the popsicle are done take them out of the mold and enjoy (if you have trouble removing the popsicle turn the mold around and warm it up with hot water. The popsicle would slide right out)
