If your planning a New Years Eve party or any other holiday event try preparing a tomato bruschetta as an appetizer for your guests. (especially if they are vegetarian or vegans)

Helpful Hint
If your guest are vegans you can skip the cheese.
If your guest are not vegans you add also add the cheese but not melt it.

Nuts are the perfect snack when lounging around. They are small, yet packed with protein, which is perfect for any vegetarian or vegan.

One of my favourite foods to enjoy during the holidays would have to be mashed sweet potatoes. They are made just like mashed pototes but have much more flavour.

Day 19 of 31 Days of December: eCards

If you have family living far away, limit your paper waste by sending them an eCard. This method is 100% paper-free, thus being eco-friendly. Websites such as goanimate.com allow you to create video ecards that are much more interesting, and original than regular cards. Just make sure you call them to tell them to check their email!

Day 18 of 31 Days of December: Green Travel

If your going somewhere for the holidays do your part by travelling as eco-friendly as you possibly can with these easy tips.
  1. Pack Lighter: Planes, cars, and buses use more fuel to carry heavier loads.
  2. Stay at a Green Hotel: Green hotels offer use less water, and electricity than regular hotels.
  3. Eat and Drink Locally: Foods that are grown locally use less energy to travel onto your plate.
  4. Walk: Instead of taking a taxi everywhere, which can be expensive, and harmful to the environment, walk around to close locations. This will also give you the opportunity to look around at local businesses, and attractions that are not in your travel guide.
  5. Take Public Transit: It cuts down on the amount of air pollution.

Day 17 of 31 Days of December: eGift Cards

Gift cards are always a staple in gift giving. They are also so useful when shopping last mintue or for diffcult people. Therefore if you very want to be environmentally aware, send someone an eGift card. They cut down on the use of paper by 100%, since it is sent by email, and it is still as functional as a regular gift card.

Day 13 of 31 Days of December: Tip Tuesday - Use LED lights

Use LED Lights to Decorate: This holiday season use LED lights to decorate instead of regular lights. LED stand for light-emitting diode. Day 11 of 31 Days of December: Are E-Readers Really Eco-Friendly

Instead of buying a book for someone this year consider an e-reader.

What is and E-Reader
An e-reader is a device used for reading digital books or in other words e-books. They store hundreds of different books in one device. Some brands of e-readers include iPad, Sony e-reader, and Kindle.

Why Buy an E-Reader
To start off e-readers are more environmentally friendly. Since they store libraries worth of books on one device they replace a ton of paper used to produce a book. They also make it easier to carry more books at once.
