Happy Earth Day

Happy Earth Day everyone. Hope you did something to benefit the earth. I myself spent around 25 mintues outside picking up trash off the ground. I tried to flim it to show you guys, but there were so many people around, since it was an amazing day, I didn't want them staring at me. The only thing I wish I did more today is pick up more trash. I wanted to watch the disney naturals Oceans but I was so busy today I didn't get the chance so when i do helpfully I will be able to post up a review on it. Before I go I just wanted to say remember that earth day isn't just today, it should be everyday.

Earth Day

Celebrate Earth Day on April 22 by doing a couple of easy things.

1.Reduce, Reuse, Recycle
2.turn off the lights when you leave the room
3.pack a litter-less lunch
4.pick up litter outside
5.carpool
6.use cold water for laundry
7.air-dry clothing/ only use the dryer if it's full
8.unplug inused electronics

Also if you follow or read my blog on Earth day wear something green to bring awareness of the cause.














Also go to the movies on Earth day and watch the movie Oceans.

DIY Growning Plants

Today I am Doing my first Do It Yourself project. It is going to be about make plant pot out of recycled marticles.




We'll need
soil
seeds of your choice
paper cups
glue
and newspaper

Step one:

Rip newspaper into small pieces.










Step 2:
Glue Ripped newspaper to the paper cup.
















Step 3: Add the soil and than the seeds you want. I used Scarlet Flax flowers

How to Green your Cleaning

For todays post I decided to talk about greening your house hold chours.

Washing the Dishes

Turn off the water when you are not rinsing the dishes.
Use a biodegradable soap

Washing the Car

Try not to wash your car in the drive way. Instead go to the car wash, because the soap you use to wash your car goes into the sewerand than into lakes and oceans. However if you have to wash your own car use biodegradable soap.

Cleaning Products

Cleaning products use harmful chemical so use green, eco-friendly prodcuts or make something homemade like use soap, vinegar, baking soda or/and steaming water

Scents

Instead of using air freshers boil cinnamon, or another herb.

Hey Guys. So today I decied to take a picture of my garden. It's beening doing better. On Sunday I will fix it up and hopely get new supplies.

It has been a couple of days since I have started this months challenge and so far it's been ok. I have been using a resusable bottle, but I have also been drinking pop still. However I am recycling those pop bottles. My garden isn't doing so good put I am going to fix it up this weekend. However my last challenge has beening going good. I am packing littlerless lunchs so that's good. Next week I will try to get better at theses challenges.

10 Easy Tips to Go Green

1. Drive Less: Instead walk, bike, take public transit, or car pool. This will reduce the amount of air pollution and acid rain which hurts palnts, animals, and even us.

2. Think before you buy: Instead of buying new clothing buy some clothes for thrift store, or garage sales so then don't end up in landfills. Ans if you do buy things secondhand or not bring a reuseable, eco friendly bad to get your stuff in.

3. Smart Cleaning: Instead of using harmful clecning products make your own like using part vinegar and part water and if you want part soap.(This aslo makes a good stain remover)

4. Turn off the lights: Turn off the lights when you leave a room of when you don't need it. Also use all the nautarl sunlight you can get.

5.Borrow instead of buy:Try to borrrow books at the library instead of buying. It will save paper since tons of people are sharing one book.

6.Skip water bottles: Water is very important but you don't have to drink it in a plastic bottle, so instead buy a reuseable water bottle. It is better for the environment and it will save you money.

7.Save water: Take shorter showers, and if you want to take a long hour shower take a bath instead.

8. Save Money: unplug thing when not using. Wash clothing in cold water when every possible. turn of the heater once in a while and wear a sweater, or open a window instead of using an air conditioner.

9.A note or two: use recycled paper if you are taking notes.

To help me with one my challegnes which is Beverage Independence I got a BPA free reuasble water bottle. I took some picks so I thought I would show you. Hopefully tommorow I will have have a green diy or a tips to go green post.

Carbon Rally Month 1: 04/09/10

Today I just carbon rally and I have choosen the following challengs to take on this month

• Green Ham and Cheese: Pack a litter-less lunch everyday for the next 28 days.
• Beverage Independence: Use reuseable bottles and stop using soft drink cans and make my own drink for the next 28 days
• Veg Out: Stop a garden of vegetables for the next 5 months

For the Veg out challenge I have already started my garden, because since last year I have being growing vegetables. Also the veg out challenge is 5 months long because it does a while to grow things.

Hopefully I will update by the end of the weekend or next week.

Green is the new Black

Now a days there is so many people recycling, and trying to be more eco-friendly. However so people still liter and don't really care. So this blog is going to help thoses people understand the importance of helping the environment, and it is going to help the eco-friendly people discover more ways to be eco-friendly. On this blog I will have weekly updates on the carbon rally challenges I take, I will make lists of eco-friendly tips , and once in a while I will have eco-friendly D.I.Y's ( do it yourself) projects that you can do using recycled materials.
